Tensile Properties and Fracture Mechanisms of Corn Bract for Corn Peeling Device Design

چکیده
This paper describes the physical and tensile properties of corn bracts during a whole harvest period by using two cultivars, aiming to realize efficient peeling with minimum energy performance decrease incidence ear damage. The value range change rule were obtained combining mechanical experiments numerical statistics. Meanwhile, mathematical models established for depending on bract moisture content thickness. experimental results show that leaf blade affected orientation between pulling force longitudinal vein, parallel was greater than perpendicular. Further, sheaths depended angle natural growth direction in following order: 0° > 90° 180°. A larger can improve probability fracturing at root sheaths, which helps reduce residue peduncle. In addition, fracture mechanisms blades expressed from physiological morphological perspectives. are believed be able provide theoretical guidance design optimize corn-peeling devices.

متن کاملPhysical Properties of Corn Residues
Corn residues (cobs, leaves and stalks) are abundantly available renewable materials that can be used as an energy source in gasification and combustion systems. Proper understanding of the physical properties of these materials is necessary for their use in thermochemical conversion processes. The physical properties (moisture content, particle size, bulk density and porosity) of corn cobs, le...
متن کاملPlant Nucleases. II. Properties of Corn Ribonucleases I and II and Corn Nuclease I.
A classification system is presented to distinguish 3 corn nucleases-Ribonuclease I, Ribonuclease II, and Nuclease I-which were described in the first paper of this series. The 2 ribonucleases are specific for RNA, are endonucleases, and liberate purine and pyrimidine cyclic nucleotides from dinucleotide monophosphates as well as from RNA. Ribonuclease I and II hydrolyze the purine cyclic nucle...
متن کاملNutriDense corn grain and corn silage for dairy cows.
Twenty multiparous Holstein cows, 4 of them surgically fitted with ruminal cannulas, were used in a replicated 4 x 4 Latin square to compare the effects of whole-plant silage and grain produced from NutriDense (ND), leafy NutriDense (LND), or a conventional yellow dent (YD) hybrid on ruminal fermentation, total tract nutrient digestibility, and performance of lactating dairy cows. On a DM basis...
متن کاملThermal Starch Properties in Corn Belt and Exotic Corn Inbred Lines and Their Crosses
More knowledge is needed about variability of starch functional traits in adapted and exotic germplasm and possible genetic effects of these traits before conducting rigorous inheritance studies and breeding programs for starch quality. We studied and compared the range of variability for starch functional traits in a set of Corn Belt inbred lines with a set of exotic inbred lines from Argentin...
